TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problems that may arise when using the log splitter and some recommended actions
and checks are shown in the table below:
Problem
Log fails to split....
Log Pusher/Cams advance
jerkily or with strong upward
vibrations.....
Oil leak from the cams or
other external points....
Probable Cause
Incorrect positioning of log.
The log exceeds permitted
dimensions or the wood is
too hard for the machine.
Wedge does not cut.
Oil leak.
Hydraulic pressure is too low.
Air in the circuit.
Leakage from the oil tank
Seals worn.

Corrective Action
Ensure log is positioned
correctly.
Try to cut a small part or
reduce log size using other
means.
Sharpen the wedge and file
if necessary.
Locate leak using a piece of
wood or card.
Contact your local dealer.
Check oil level and fill if nec-
essary. If problem persists
contact your local dealer.
Check that the bleed screw
has been unscrewed before
use.
