    GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS It is important that you read and understand the owner’s manual and labels affixed to the machine. Learn its application and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards. Retain these instructions for future reference. The operator is responsible for following the warnings & instructions in this manual and on the product.
  • Page 6 STAY ALERT Do not operate the machine while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any medication that could affect your ability to use it properly. Do not use this machine when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand. Be aware of what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS Make sure there is adequate surrounding workspace.
  • Page 7 PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT Take left over materials to an authorised collection point or follow the stipulations in the country where the machine is used. Do not discharge into drains, soil or water. STORE IDLE EQUIPMENT When not in use, the machine should be stored in a dry location. Keep the machine away from children and others not qualified to use it.

    SET UP & PREPARATION FOR OPERATION Follow the below assembly instructions carefully, you should be able to assemble the machine in a short period. STEP 1 Pull Spring Pin (A) to remove Lock Pin (B). Apply a thin coat of grease to both surfaces of the Control Lever Guard as shown.
  • Page 9 FUEL SAFETY  Fuel is highly flammable, and its vapors can explode if ignited. Take precautions when using to reduce the chance of serious personal injury.  Only refill or drain the fuel tank in a clean well-ventilated outdoor area. Use an approved fuel storage container.

    Engine Manual packed separately with the machine. All questions related to the operation of the engine, should be directed to the Engine Manufacturer, who will supply a separate engine warranty from the Handy machine warranty. AIR BLEEDER IMPORTANT Before operating the log splitter, the Air Bleeder should be loosened a few rotations until air can go in and out of the oil tank smoothly.

    SPLITTING LOGS Plan your work site. Work safely and save effort by planning your work beforehand. Have your logs positioned where they can be easily reached. Have an area prepared to stack the split wood. HINTS & TIPS  Never attempt to load the log splitter whilst the ram is in motion. ...
  • Page 12 3. Open the Air Bleed. Loosen the oil tank cover a few turns whenever the splitter is being used. Retighten the cover when finished 4. Turn the engine on, the wedge ram should rise to the highest position automatically. If the wedge ram is already at the highest position when the motor starts, grip both control levers and lower them, the wedge ram should start to move downward.

  • Page 14 REPLACING THE HYDRAULIC OIL The hydraulic system is a closed system with oil tank, oil pump and control valve. Check the oil level regularly with the dipstick, located on the Air Bleeder. Low oil levels can damage the oil pump. Oil Level should measure approx.
