    GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS It is important that you read and understand the owner’s manual and labels affixed to the machine. Learn its application and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards. Retain these instructions for future reference. The operator is responsible for following the warnings & instructions in this manual and on the product.
  • Page 6 STAY ALERT Do not operate the machine while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any medication that could affect your ability to use it properly. Do not use this machine when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand. Be aware of what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS Make sure there is adequate surrounding workspace.
  • Page 7 PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT Take left over materials to an authorised collection point or follow the stipulations in the country where the machine is used. Do not discharge into drains, soil or water. STORE IDLE EQUIPMENT When not in use, the machine should be stored in a dry location. Keep the machine away from children and others not qualified to use it.
  • Page 8 UNPACKING At least 2 people are required to unpack the log splitter. Put the Log Splitter on the ground by tipping every side of the carton by 45 degrees. Place Block (B) to support the Log Splitter pack (A) at a point a little higher than the middle of the pack (A).

    SET UP & PREPARATION FOR OPERATION STEP 1 • Insert the wheel shafts into the grooves provided in the machine base, secure with two M6x8 bolts. • Tighten • Put the wheels on the wheel shaft, followed by the washers. •...
  • Page 10 • The machine is transported with a rubber bung within the hydraulic oil tank filler neck. • Prior to operation, remove the bung and replace with the supplied breather & STEP 4 dipstick. Replace Transport Bung • Ensure is it securely positioned in the hydraulic oil tank filler neck.

    OPERATION • It is recommended you fix the machine using M10x30 bolts on level ground before operation. • Plan your work site. Work safely and save effort by planning your work beforehand. Have your logs positioned where they can be easily reached. Prepare an area to stack the split wood or load it onto a nearby truck or other carrier.
  • Page 12 • Before initial operation, check that the two-handed operation is properly functioning by following these steps: a) Lower both control levers, the wedge should lower to approx. 5cm above the table at the highest position. b) Release either of the levers, the wedge should remain in its original position. c) Release both levers, the ram should rise to the highest position automatically.
  • Page 13 MAINTENANCE & STORAGE REPLACING THE HYDRAULIC OIL The hydraulic system is a closed system with an oil tank, oil pump and control valve. Check the oil level regularly with the dipstick. Low oil levels can damage the oil pump, check the dipstick which is built into the air breather, the oil level should be between the two marks, approx.
