the related node.
Modifying the Edit Grid column display
manually
You
resize the width of a column by dragging the right margin of its
title.
automatically
You
resize the width of a column by double-clicking on the right
margin of the title of the column. This invokes the Best fit function.
You cannot hide the column with the node description. It is always frozen in the
first position of the grid and is not involved in the scroll operation.
You cannot modify the column order, but you can horizontally scroll the grid
and decide to hide a single column or a group of columns via the right-click
context menu.
You can redisplay the columns previously hidden at any time via the right-click
context menu.
For details on the right-click context menu, see section Right-click context menu
in the Edit Grid [➙ 71].
Modifying the Edit Grid column contents
You can modify column contents for some nodes in the Edit Grid. Column contents
that you cannot modify are disabled.
Hint: For some subsystems, to change a large number of values in the description
column in the Children tab (for example), you may find it easier to copy contents
from an Excel spreadsheet into Composer. Conversely, to quickly modify all or
part of a column in Composer, you can copy and paste to a spreadsheet.
See the following procedure to learn how to do this.
To copy and paste from an Excel spreadsheet into Composer, proceed as follows:
1. In an Excel spreadsheet, select the contents of a column you want to copy.
2. Right-click and select Copy.
3. Navigate to the column in the Edit Grid in Composer where you want to paste.
4. Select the top-most cell in the column in which you want to paste.
5. Right-click and select Paste.
Note: The data you are pasting must be of the correct category – either
alphanumeric or numeric or you will not be able to paste.
