1. Troubleshooting Tips

If you think there is a problem with the Film Scanner, try to solve it by first referring to the table below.
If the problem is not addressed below or the recommended procedure fails to correct the problem, unplug the
Film Scanner and contact your Canon vendor or the nearest
back of this guide.
SUGGESTION:
• Please refer to the Readme file or the on-screen HELP facility if you have a problem with the installa-
tion or operation of the driver software.

The Power Indicator Does Not Light.

Cause 1:
The power cord is not attached.
Solution:
Ensure that the power cord is properly attached.
Cause 2:
The power switch is in the Off position.
Solution:
Turn the power switch to the On position.
Cause 3:
The power voltage is too low.
Solution 1:
Connect the power cord to a different power outlet.
Solution 2:
Use a voltage regulator device that will provide a stable power supply.
Cause 4:
The outlet is not receiving any electricity.
Solution:
Check the fuse breaker box.

The Film Scanner is Not Detected.

Cause 1:
The SCSI interface cable is disconnected.
Solution:
Correctly connect the SCSI interface cable.
Cause 2:
The SCSI interface cable is incorrectly connected.
Solution:
Correctly connect the SCSI interface cable. (Check that you haven't mistakenly connected the D-
Sub 25-Pin SCSI interface cable to your computer's parallel port)
Cause 3:
The SCSI terminator is incorrectly set.
Solution:
Install a terminator on the last SCSI device in the daisy chain or, if the Film Scanner is the last
device in the daisy chain, set the SCSI ID to a number in the Terminator On range.

Cause 4:
The settings for the SCSI ID, IRQ or I/O port address are duplicated by another card or device.
Solution:
Please read Step-1.
