Program a Fingerprinting Pendant
wireless signal information to AlphaECall™ 200. To specify a pendant that you will be using as your fingerprinting pendant, go
into the Locations area in the AlphaECall™ 200 configuration. You will see a button to "Program Fingerprinting Pendant". Click
that button and then on the pendant you will be using for finger printing click the reset button.
Adding Locations
'New' at the top of the list of locations. Select that item and give it a name (ie 'Lobby', 'Room 301', etc..) and then click the
'Save' button. See "Locations" on page 24 for more information on adding locations.
Receive Fingerprinting Data For a Location
1. In your list of locations, select the location you would like to finger print.
2. Select the "Fingerprinting" tab.
3. Click the "Start Receiving Fingerprintings" button.
4. Take the pendant you have setup as your Fingerprinter Pendant to this location.
5. Activate the pendant using either the "compass" or the "corner and centers" method (see below) depending on the size
of the room.
6. Wait 10 seconds.
7. Activate the pendant again using the method chosen.
8. Repeat the waiting and activating of the pendant until you have finished the mapping method for that location.
9. Return back to your browser screen and click the button "Stop Receiving Fingerprints".
Test Location Finding

additional Fingerprinting Data for a location or clear out the Fingerprinting Data for a location and use a different method to
map that location.
Clear Fingerprinting Data For a Location
location you can use the "Clear Fingerprint Data" button to remove all the finger prints for the selected location.
If the location your are mapping has a metal door or metal window shades, collect Fingerprinting Data with the

door open and then closed, and the window shades up and then down. Fingerprinting Data should be collected in every
possible configuration in which the location can be used if there are materials that can absorb or reflect wireless transmis-
sion.

The Compass Method

For small areas with obstacles in the corners or along the walls, use the compass method. Activate the finger printer while facing the
center of each wall and at each corner, as shown in Figure RL-5.

The Corners-and-Centers Method

For larger rooms, or rooms where you do not have access to the middle, us the corners-and-centers method. Activate the finger
printer towards the center of the room while standing in each corner and at the center of each wall, as shown in Figure RL-6.
