If the card is not being replaced by another 16-port card, Brocade recommends that a filler panel be
installed to preserve optimal cooling.
Note:
To reduce the time it takes to replace a card, unpack the spare 16-port card and pre-install the SFPs if
available. Make sure the SFPs are 2 Gbit/sec by verifying the part number with the vendor. Even though
the 1 Gbit/sec SFPs look the same as the 2 Gbit/sec SFP and will work in a SilkWorm 12000 switch,
they would cause performance issues and ISL Trunking will not work. Figure 7-8 shows an example of
the part number for IBM 1Gbit/sec and 2 Gbit/sec SFPs. Before installing SFPs, follow the ESD
procedures as defined in the SilkWorm 12000 Hardware Reference Manual.
Note:
The part number of this SFP has a "2" after the "P" and is capable of 1 and 2 GB
The part number of this SFP has a "1" after the "P" and is capable of 1GB only

In the event that the operator inadvertently latches the ejectors prior to the card being removed,
the operator must wait at least one second prior to unlatching the ejectors again.
The switchShow command currently does not distinguish between a 1Gb and 2Gb SFP.
