Cause
The fiber is not
located in the
Camera's field of
view.
The fusion splicer is
hit by force during
splicing operation.
Too much [Overlap]
setting
The motor is not
calibrated
The fiber is not
set correctly at
the bottom of the
V-groove.
There's dust or dirt
on the fiber surface
There's dust or dirt
on the fiber surface
The fibers on the
two sides are not the
same
Bad fiber end-face
[Cleave Limit] is set
too low.
[Offset Limit] is set

Dust or dirt is on
the V-groove or the
clamp chip.

The motor is not
calibrated
Solution
Adjust the fiber position and do "motor
calibration" for maintenance.
Carry out "motor calibration" for
maintenance. If the problem still
can't be solved, contact with agency.
Adjust or initialize [Overlap] setting.
Do [Motor Calibration] maintenance.
Press the "RESET" button , re-
position the fiber again to seat
it correctly at the bottom of the
V-groove.
Prepare the fiber (stripping,
Cleaning and cleaving) again.
Execute the [Dust Check] after
cleaning the lenses and mirrors.
It may result in large splice loss if you
continue to splice, Please use the
proper splice mode corresponding to
the fibers.
Prepare the fiber (stripping, cleaning,
and cleaving) again.,Check the
condition of the fiber cleaver. If the
blade is worn, rotate the blade to a
new position.
Increase the "Cleave Limit" to an
adequate limit. (standard value: 3.0°)
Increase the "Core Angle Limit" to
an adequate limit.
(standard value: 1.0°).
Clean the V-groove or the clamp chip,
prepare and reposition the fiber again.
Prepare the fiber (stripping,
cleaning, and cleaving) again.
Do the "Motor Calibration"
maintenance.
