To Free a Seized Clutch

A new slip clutch, or one that has been in storage over
the winter, may seize.
To free a seized clutch, shut the tractor off and remove
driveline. Completely loosen the six bolts to remove all
tension from springs. Connect driveline, start tractor
and engage PTO to slip clutch. Shut tractor off and dis-
connect driveline.
Tighten each of the bolts two full turns to apply spring
tension. Connect driveline, start tractor and engage
PTO to slip the clutch. Shut tractor off and disconnect
driveline.
Tighten each of the bolts evenly until the springs are
compressed to 1-3/4".

CHAIN SHIELDING REPAIR

Full chain shielding, designed to reduce the
possibility of thrown objects, must be installed
when operating in populated areas or other areas
where thrown objects could injure people or dam-
age property. If this machine is not equipped with
full chain shielding, operation must be stopped
when anyone comes within several hundred feet.
Inspect chain shielding frequently. Replace any broken
or missing chains as required.
