Testing the Steering Circuit–Steering Control Valve, Relief Valve
Pressure, and Steering Cylinder (Machine Serial Numbers above

Test Procedure
Hydraulic System: Testing the Hydraulic System
Unit steering performance will be affected by incorrect rear tire pressure, binding
in the hydraulic steering cylinder, extra weight on the vehicle, and/or binding of
the steering forks. Ensure that these conditions are checked and functioning
properly before proceeding with any steering system hydraulic testing.
Note: The relief valve for the steering circuit is integrated into the steering
control valve.
1. Ensure that the hydraulic fluid is at normal operating temperature by
operating the machine for at least 10 minutes.
2. Drive the machine slowly in a figure eight on a flat level surface.
