Troubleshooting

Misuse of this product may adversely affect performance, even if this product is properly functional. If any of the following
problems occurs, be sure to check the following table for possible causes before requesting service.
If you detect problems that are not listed below or the problem still persists after measures are taken, turn off the device
and contact your nearest Nikon service representative.
Problem
Focus differs among the
main and secondary
observer positions.
The arrow is not visible
when the pointer is used.
When using the pointer,
the arrow and the
specimen are not in
simultaneous focus.
The arrow is blurred
when the pointer is used.
Causes
The diopter setting has not been adjusted
correctly.
The components with different serial
numbers are put together.
The arrow is outside of the view field.
The arrow color selector dial is in an
intermediate position.
The arrow brightness control is OFF.
The AC adapter is not connected.
The lamp is burned out or no lamp is
mounted. (Only for the Y-THP Pointer
Unit)
The diopter setting has not been adjusted
correctly.
The arrow is too bright.
Adjust the diopter setting correctly. (P.3)
Reassemble the components with the identical
serial numbers to each other.
Use the arrow control stick and bring the arrow
into the view field.
Turn the dial in the preferred direction as far as
it will go.
Turn the control clockwise.
Connect the AC adapter.
Mount a new lamp. (P.10)
Adjust the diopter setting correctly. (P.3)
Turn the arrow brightness control
counterclockwise to reduce the brightness.
