This chapter discusses MAC address port filtering.

12.1 Configure a Filtering Rule

Configure the Switch to filter traffic based on the traffic's source, destination MAC addresses and/or
VLAN group (ID).
Click Advanced Application > Filtering in the navigation panel to display the screen as shown next.

Make sure to select this check box to activate your rule. You may temporarily deactivate a rule
without deleting it by clearing this check box.
Type a descriptive name (up to 32 printable ASCII characters) for this rule. This is for identification
only.
Select Discard source to drop frames from the source MAC address (specified in the MAC field).
The Switch can still send frames to the MAC address.
Select Discard destination to drop frames to the destination MAC address (specified in the MAC
address). The Switch can still receive frames originating from the MAC address.
Select Discard source and Discard destination to block traffic to/from the MAC address specified
in the MAC field.
