GSM update
In order to perform a GSM update the gACC-499E/U must be put in bootloader mode. By holding the Shift-
button and clicking the button Trigger update simultaneously a connection with the gACC will be made and
puts the gACC in bootloader mode. After waiting 30 seconds the update can be started by holding the Ctrl-
button and clicking the button Trigger update simultaneously.
3.4
Local update
With a so-called debug cable it is possible to locally update the Firmware. For this is special MES software
required. This method is used by the manufacturing of the gACC-499E/U.
3.5
Reset
To restart the gACC-499E/U a Reset can be performed. With the reset no data will be lost and the internal
clock will not be affected. If the device has a continuous power supply the config file should always include a
reset. It's recommended to define the reset approx. 30 min before the time of dial-up.
Shift + Trigger update
A new window opens and the path to the folder with
update files can be selected. By clicking OK a
connection will be made automatically and the
Firmware will be sent in blocks of 512 bytes to the
corresponding gACC-499E/U.
The files are compressed java files with the
extensions *.jar and *.jad.
The Firmware will be sent to the gACC-499E/U
entirely, and will program the device by itself. While
sending the files a checksum is used to check
whether the files are sent without errors.
