Cleaning
Cleaning is the physical removal of organic soil from the meter
and lancing device surfaces. Cleaning allows for successful
disinfection when using the recommended wipes and process
for cleaning and disinfecting outlined below.
Disinfection
Disinfection is a process that destroys pathogens, such as
viruses and other microorganisms, on the meter and lancing
device surfaces. Disinfecting the meter and lancing device
helps ensure that no infection is passed on when you or oth-
ers come in contact with the meter and lancing device. The
meter and lancing device should be cleaned with a separate
wipe prior to each disinfection.

CAUTION: Never immerse the meter or the body of the
lancing device in water or any other liquid solution. Be careful
when cleaning and disinfecting your meter to avoid getting
liquid into the test strip port.
