The
generator is
suspended
on a bracket on
left side of cr ankcase and is
driven by
the fan
belt. The
method
of
mounting permits gen era-
tor to
be moved
in or out to adjust t
ension
of
fan
belt.
The
high output
r
at ing of the
generator
used
on all series eliminat es the need for special
service
generators except for certain police in-
stallations where unusual low speed perfor-
mance is
required.
Delco-Remy has
available,
through United Motors Service, a generator
package suitable for this kind of installation.
10-25 DESCRIPTION OF GENERATOR
REGULATO R
The
generator regulator is
mounted
on
the
front side
of
dash and is cushione d
by
rubber
t
o dampen t
he
noise
which
is caused
when
t
he
regulat or s
operate.
The
r
egulator
is
grounded
to
the
dash
t
hrough
two of the
attachi ng
bolts.
The
generator
r
eg
ulator contains
a
cuto ut r
e-
lay
,
current
regulator,
and volt age r
egulator,
all mounted on one
base
and
enclosed
by a
sheet metal
cover.
