1. Using a plumb bob, extend the following
points to the floor and mark where point of
plumb touches floor, as shown in figure
9-2.

Alignment
9-2 CHECKING ALIGNMENT OF FRAME
AND SUSPENSION MEMBERS
When
a
frame
has been
damaged
by
a
cci-
dent the follow
ing procedure
ma y be used
t
o
check alignment
of t
he frame,
a
nd
the
align-
ment
of the
chassis
suspension memb er s with
the
frame.
This procedure
sh
ould be
used to
check a
lign ment
after
r
epairs
t
o
f
rame have
been
comp
leted.
If
bod
y
was
re
moved for re-
pa ir s to
frame, check
frame
as
described
in
par agraph 9-3.
Checks
are to
be
made
with f
r ame assembl ed
with
power plant, body, etc., and car resting on
wheels.
The car
should
be placed on a clean
floor t
hat
is re
as onably
level. Both
sides
of the
front
ends of the frame must be
t
he
same dis-
tance
from
the
floor
; the same
conditi on must
exist
at
r
ear
end of
frame.
Where
points are
