Power supply 12 V

Electric cables, switching and control devices for heaters
must be arranged in the vehicle so that they function per-
fectly under normal operating conditions. All cables that lead
outside must be laid so that they are protected against spray
water at the hole.
Before starting work on electrical parts, you must disconnect
the appliance from the power supply. It is not sufficient to
switch it off on the control panel!
If electric arc welding is to be carried out on bodywork, dis-
connect the appliance from the on-board power supply.
Attach the 12 V connector cable to the electronics of the
Truma E-Kit and connect the 12 V
positive cable with a 1 A fuse (supplied) near the positive pole
of the power supply.

All electrical work and permanent wiring must be
carried out by a qualified person in accordance with
the standards AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3001 and all local
codes and regulatory authority requirements. According to
Standard AS/NZS 3001.2008 "Electrical installations – Trans-
portable structures and vehicles" all electric circuits must be
protected with an RCD (residual current device).
Make the connection to the power supply by attaching the
supply cord to a line that is protected with at least 10 A
(preferably 16 A).
Lay the connector cables so that they cannot chafe. Also use
edge protection or leadthrough bushings on sharp edges, such
as holes on metal walls. The connector cables must not be fixed
to or touch the exhaust duct (of Truma VarioHeat), the housing or
the warm air ducts of the Truma E-Kit (minimum gap: 5 cm).
All cables must be secured with clamps.
For maintenance and repair work, the vehicle must have a
separator for complete separation from the power supply
with a minimum contact distance of 3.5 mm.
