About the peak level meters indicating the recording volume levels
While recording is in progress, the recording volume levels are indicated by the peak level meters (
appear on the display window.
If
appears along with the peak values, distortion may occur.
When recording sharp attack sounds such as percussion sounds, check the peak level meters for the recording volume level.
Please adjust the orientation of the built-in microphones or the distance from the sound source, or use the REC LEVEL dial to
adjust the recording volume so that the recording volume level of the input sound stays around -12 dB on the peak level meters,
which fits within the optimum range, as illustrated above.
Hint
When the input sound volume is low, it is recommended you move your linear PCM recorder closer to the sound source or increase the
recording volume with the REC LEVEL dial.
