4.3. Advanced Phone Features

Call Waiting

Call Waiting On or Off
To turn Call Waiting on tap the Menu soft key and then select Call Features by
tapping on the icon. Select Call Waiting and tap the appropriate radio button to
turn it on or off. Finally tap the Save soft key to confirm your setting.
If you are on another call when a third party calls, Call Waiting will let you know
there is an incoming call by flashing the Power LED at the top right of the phone
and by displaying Incoming call xxx. See 'Receiving a 2
If a Voice mail feature has not been activated for this phone number then the third
party will stay on the line hearing a ringing tone indefinitely until you either
terminate your current call or tap the Answer soft key. In this latter case you
remain connected to your original call, which is put on hold, and you may switch
between the two using the Swap soft key.
If a Voice mail feature has been activated for this phone number then the third
party will stay on the line only for the time you specified in Voice mail settings on
the portal website at which point they will hear the Voice mail message.
Call Waiting Off
In this case if you are on another call when a third party calls they will either be
given a busy signal or, if a Voice mail feature has been activated, they will receive
the Voice mail message. Your phone will register a 'Missed Call'

Line Monitoring

Selecting DSS on your phone by tapping the soft key on the right hand side of the
screen will bring up a grid of 18 soft keys that can be allocated numbers. These
numbers may be used for monitoring and speed dialling lines in your company or
for just speed dialling other numbers. If the company line is available to be called,
the soft key will glow green if the number is in use it will glow red. External
numbers will not be lit as the phone cannot check the status of phones not on the
company network.
The numbers should be allocated via the Nimbus UC portal as described in the
Nimbus UC Setup and User Guide by selecting Company – Features - Line
Monitoring. Once in the screen you may choose numbers or names to be attributed
to the DSS soft keys.
If soft keys attributed to company numbers glow green then tapping the key will
call that number. In the case of external numbers tapping the key will also call the
number but it may, of course, be busy.
Call' above.
