Lift the handset to engage the line or press the

O TRANSFER A CALL DURING A TELEPHONE

CONVERSATION

As mentioned previously, you can transfer a telephone call
from your fax machine to an additional telephone and vice
versa providing that it is connected to the fax machine (for
example, a "cordless" phone) or is an extension connected
to a telephone system with more than one socket set in
series.
To transfer a call from the fax machine to an addi-
tional telephone
Press the /
display shows:
MUTE
Then lower the handset. The display shows:
CALL TRANSFER
The additional telephone will ring for about 30 seconds. If
the handset of the additional telephone is not lifted in time,
the fax machine will take the call back and ring for about 20
seconds. At this point, if the handset of the fax machine is not
lifted in time, the call will be terminated.
