Descale
Air-O-Steam Dial Control (Boiler)
•
When there is an excessive build up of scale in the steam generator the
icon
will turn on, signalling the need to carry out de-scaling (even if
the icon does not appear, descalling should be performed at a minimum
every 6 months)
The de-scaling process takes 3+ hours
1.
Turn off water supply at the isolation tap. Press and hold the manual
boiler drain button (bottom row, centre button) until the led light comes
on. The boiler takes approx. 3 minutes to drain
2.
When empty press the boiler drain button again to close the drain valve,
the led light will blink indicating the valve is closing
3.
When the boiler drain has closed, carefully remove the black rubber
stopper on the top left hand side of the oven (DO NOT DISCARD). Using
a funnel slowly pour in the required measured volume of pure white
vinegar as per the chart below

Replace the black rubber stopper

Let the vinegar stand in the boiler a minimum of 2 hours to dissolve the
scale build up
6.
Press and hold the boiler drain button to drain the vinegar. Leave the
drain valve open
7.
Turn on the water supply to oven and wait 20 seconds allowing the
water to flush the boiler. Press the boiler drain button to close valve. The
led light will blink indicating the valve is closing
If using a hazardous descaling chemical it is
recommended for only trained staff or
a service technician to perform this task.
Ensure that the descaling chemical is first diluted
with water (2.5 water : 1 descaling chemical).
Descaling chemical should not be used straight.
