The start procedure is the same as
when the engine is cold.
It is not necessary to press the
primer (1).

.2 Stopping the engine

To stop the engine, release the
motorstop lever (1).
The engine and mowing blade come to a
stop after a short run-down time.
.3 Self-propulsion lever
(MB 443 T, MB 448 T, MB 448 TC,
MB 448 TX)
The lawn mowers MB 443 T,
MB 448 T, MB 448 TC and
MB 448 TX are equipped with self-
propulsion.
The self-propulsion lever must
always be fully actuated (to the
stop) in order to prevent resultant
damage to the gearbox.
Switching on self-propulsion:
Start the engine. (Ö 11.1)
Pull the self-propulsion lever (1) to the
handlebar and hold.
Self-propulsion is switched on and the
lawn mower moves forwards.
Switching off self-propulsion:
Release the self-propulsion lever (1).
Self-propulsion is switched off and the
lawn mower comes to a standstill. The
engine continues to run.

.4 Level indicator

The upper part of the grass catcher
box features a level indicator (1).
The flow of air that is created by the rotary
movement of the mowing blade and is
responsible for filling the grass catcher box

raises the level indicator (2):
The grass catcher box is filled with
clippings.
When the grass catcher box is full, this
flow of air is reduced and the level
indicator drops (3):
Empty filled grass catcher box (Ö 11.5).

.5 Emptying the grass catcher
box
Risk of injury!
The engine must be stopped for
safety reasons before removing the
grass catcher box.
Detach the grass catcher box. (Ö 8.3)
Open the grass catcher box at the
tab (1). Fold up the upper part of the
grass catcher box (2) and hold. Fold the
grass catcher box rearwards and empty
the clippings.
Close the grass catcher box.
Attach the grass catcher box. (Ö 8.3)

instructions contained in the attached
engine instruction manual.
To achieve a long service life, it is always
particularly important to maintain a
sufficient level of oil and to change the oil
and air filter regularly.
The recommended oil change intervals as
well as information on engine oil and oil
capacities can also be found in the engine
instruction manual.
The cooling ribs must always be kept clean
to ensure that the engine is adequately
cooled.
