• Check if the RADIUS server is set to use EAP-MD5, PAP, and CHAP
authentication.
• The SMCWHSG44-G does not respond to ping from the client computer.
• Are two or more NICs (wireless or wired) installed on the client computer?
• Use Windows-provided Device Manager to disable unnecessary NICs.
• Is the underlying communication link established?
• Make sure the wireless link is OK.
• Make sure the Ethernet link between the AP and the SMCWHSG44-G
is OK.
• Make sure the settings of the client computer and of the

• Are the IP address of the client computer and the IP address of the
SMCWHSG44-G in the same IP subnet?
• Use WinIPCfg.exe or IPConfig.exe to see the current IP address of

the client computer.
