4-2 Other Essential Functions
Controls the ringing style of the ringing tone or pattern selected for the phone's
ringer and alarm clock. Four options are available:
Ring Once – One time only.
Ascending – Slowly increase to maximum volume.
Ringing – No change to the selected ringing tone pattern.
OFF – Disables all ringing tones. If the phone is set to OFF, no ringing tone,
The default ring mode setting is Ringing.
Ring Tone:
You can select one of the six different types (1 to 6) of ringing tones or one of the
eighteen different (7 to 24) melodies to sound when an incoming call is received.
The default ringing tone setting is Ring1.
Message Tone:
You can select one of the six different types (1 to 6) of ringing tones or one of the
eighteen different (7 to 24) melodies to sound to indicate an incoming SMS
message. The default message tone setting is Ring2.
Alarm Clock Tone:
You can select one of the six different types (1 to 6) of ringing tones or one of the
eighteen different (7 to 24) melodies to sound when the alarm clock timer expires.
The default alarm clock tone setting is Ring4.
Keypad Tone:
Each time a key is pressed on the phone a tone is heard. You can set the keypad
tone to ON or OFF. The default keypad tone setting is ON.
Alert Tone:
You can select whether an alerting tone is heard in the earpiece of the handset when
a handover occurs during your phone conversation or the handset is out of the
service area.
A handover is the process of transferring a call from one cell site to another as the
handset moves through the service area. The handover tone indicates that the
handset is searching for to a cell site with a stronger radio signal in the service area
to maintain the communication link. If the handover is successful you won't notice
any difference in the quality conversation since the connection is not broken.
However, if the handover fails the quality of the conversation will degrade, as the
radio signal grows weaker. The handover tone provides an early alert to the
possibility of a service interruption during a conversation. The default Alert Tone
setting is ON.
