● The ventilation unit has four Ø 125 mm
duct connections. For suitable plug
connectors with lip seal or pipe elbow
 Maico catalogue or internet.
● ¾" condensate discharge outlet, sleeve
with 28 mm diameter lip seal. For
connecting a drain hose. The condensate
discharge must run into a siphon as
otherwise unwanted air is sucked
into the ventilation unit through the drain
line, see also Chapter 6.4.

4.2 Room air controls

4.2.1 RLS 1 WR room air control
Standard room air control for
● WS 170 standard unit
● WS 170 comfort unit
For detailed information, see WS 170
operating and maintenance instructions.
4.2.2 Digital RLS D1 WR
room air control
Standard room air control for
● WS 170 bypass unit
For detailed information, see operating
instructions in separate packaging unit.
The RLS D1 WR can also be combined with
the standard or comfort unit.

Also refer to connection option 4 in Chap. 6.11.
CO
sensor for registering carbon dioxide.
2
The CO
content of the air is an indicator of
2
the quality of the room air. The higher the
CO
content, the worse the room air quality.
2
The ventilation unit only reacts to the CO
sensor if ventilation level 2 (nominal venti-
lation) is selected on the RLS 1 WR or
RLS D1 WR room air control.
VOC sensor (EAQ 10/2 Air quality control-
ler) for controlling the fans according to the
air quality. The ventilation unit only reacts to
the VOC sensor if ventilation level 2 (nominal
ventilation) is selected at the (RLS 1 WR or
RLS D1 WR) room air control.
CO
and VOC sensor: The ventilation unit
2
switches between the ventilation levels,
depending on the air quality.
● If the air quality improves, the ventilation
unit switches over to ventilation level 1.
● If the air quality worsens, the ventilation
unit switches over to ventilation level 3.
CO
and VOC switching points are perma-
2
nently stored in the control.
