The pressure gauges are optional and perhaps not necessary but a hose bib (which is a faucet that you can attach a garden hose to) is strongly recommended after the Greensand Filter and before the second ball valve.

Unit must be installed at least 10 feet ahead of the inlet to a water heater to prevent damage due to back-up hot water or use a check valve to prevent hot water back-up.
