    5. FUEL AND OIL WARNING All fuels are flammable and must be handled and stored correctly. Always ensure there is adequate ventilation when handling fuels. NOTE This machine is equipped with a two stroke engine and must always be run using a mixture of petrol and two stroke oil.
  • Page 17: Starting Procedure

After starting the engine (see section 5) run the chain at medium speed and see if the chain oil has scattered off as shown in the image below. 6. STARTING PROCEDURE NOTE This machine is shipped without fuel/oil mix. Therefore you MUST fill the engine with the correct fuel/oil mix before operation.

  • Page 19 WARNING This machine is equipped with a centrifugal clutch, so the cutting attachment will start to rotate as soon as the engine has started. When starting, place the machine on flat, clear ground to ensure the cutting head does not come in to contact with any obstacles. Once the engine has attempted to fire, move the choke lever downwards to open the choke and restart the engine.
  • Page 20 ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE CABLE NOTE You must only make adjustments after the engine has had time to warm up. 5.14 The normal amount of play is 1 to 2mm when measured at the carburetor end. 5.15 If the cable requires adjustment, remove the air filter housing to expose the adjustment screw.
  • Page 21: Stopping Procedure

ADJUSTING IDLE SPEED NOTE You must only make adjustments after the engine has had time to warm up. 5.19 If the engine stalls when idling, you will need to adjust the idle adjusting screw. 5.20 The idle adjusting screw can be accessed via the back of the air filter housing next to the choke lever.
  • Page 22: Operating Instructions

    8. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Always wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using this machine. Never lean over the rotating cutting head. Rocks or other debris could be thrown into your eyes or face and cause serious injury. WARNING Keep the cutting attachment guard in place at all times.
  • Page 23 Avoid thrown debris by sweeping from your left to your right. Use a slow, deliberate action to cut heavy growth. The rate of cutting motion will depend on the material being cut. Heavy growth will require a slower action than light growth. Never swing the machine hard as to lose your balance.
  • Page 24 7.13 When clearing a wide area, start working from your left and work towards the right to avoid the interference of cut grass. 7.14 The blade may be clogged by weeds if the engine speed is too low, or if the blade cuts too deeply into the weeds.
  • Page 25 For this reason you should always wear a helmet and face protector when using this machine. 7.27 To adjust the angle of the blades, STOP the engine. 7.28 Turn the lever (1) on the trimmer mechanism anti-clockwise to loosen. 7.29 Adjust the blade angle to the working position required.
  • Page 26 7.34 In order to stop the hanger position from changing. Turn up the extra part of the harness band back through the buckle. 7.35 When correctly adjusted, check the quick release. 7.36 While holding the machine securely in your right hand, press both sides of the buckle (1).
