PRE-OPERATION CHECK

1. Engine oil
Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine
damage.
Be sure to check the engine on a level surface with the engine
stopped.
1. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and check the oil level.
2. If the level is low, add the recommended oil to the edge of the oil
filler hole.
Use Honda 4-stroke oil, or an
equivalent high detergent premium
quality motor oil certified to meet or
e x c e e d U . S . a u t o m o b i l e
manufacturer's requirements for
service classification SF, SH. (Motor
oils classified SF, SH will show this
designation on the container.)
Select the appropriate viscosity for
the average temperature in your
area.
Using nondetergent oil or 2-stroke engine oil will shorten the engine's
service life.
