13. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Problem
Field not cleaned well.
Hay is bunching.
Rake wheel hoops breaking.
Tines breaking.
Rake wheel does not turn.
Poor windrow preparation.
Rake wheels on one side
do no turn.
HYDRAULIC PROBLEMS
Hydraulic system inoperative.

OPERATION
Possible Cause
Rake wheels too high.
Tips of tines collecting dirt.
Incorrect ground speed.
Steel burrs on tines or hoops.
Ground wheels and wheel
supports obstruct flow of hay.
Excessive ground speed.
Excessive ground pressure.
Excessive ground speed.
Excessive ground pressure.
Inadequate lubrication.
Failed bearing.
Rake wheels too high.
Broken or missing tines.
Excessive ground speed.
Slow ground speed.
Excessive ground pressure.
Rake wheels too high.
Broken or missing tines.
Remote outlet valve not activated. Open remote hydraulic outlet valve.
Hose from implement not properly Connect hose.
connected to tractor.
Hydraulic oil level too low in tractor. Check tractor operator's manual.

Remedy
Adjust rake wheels lower to ground.
Remove paint and dirt from tips of tines.
Increase or decrease ground speed.
Remove burrs.
Adjust wheels and wheel supports
toward center of rake.
Reduce ground speed.
Reduce ground pressure.
Reduce ground speed.
Reduce ground pressure.
Lubricate wheel. (See Maintenance)
Replace bearing.
Lower rake wheels.
Replace tines.
Reduce ground speed.
Increase ground speed.
Reduce ground pressure.
Lower rake wheels.
Replace tines.
