Follow the instructions in the PCCU32 Help files for specific software steps. Generally you need to complete the following
procedures.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If using a 4-20mA transmitter on the analog input, please refer to Appendix D.
Manufacturer's specifications can be extremely misleading. Often a manufacturer's specification will claim to
operate from 10 to 30Vdc. They are not always clear that this 10-30Vdc must be applied across the 4-20mA
transmitter only (and NOT across the transmitter/load resistor series combination).
Equipment needed:
-
A certified power supply capable of 1-5Vdc
To calibrate the Analog Input (AI):
Connect the PC running PCCU32 to the flow computer with either an MMI cable (RS-232), a USB cable or an
Ethernet cable.
Open PCCU.
Connect the power supply to the AI terminals to be calibrated.
Select the Calibration button from the toolbar. The flow computer is placed in hold.
Select the appropriate AI to be calibrated from the tree.
Select either the 3 Point or the 5 Point for number of calibration points. 3 Point for 0%, 50% and 100% values and 5
Point for 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% values.
Check the Update button in the Current Value box.
Apply the 0% value to the AI terminals.
Enter the value (typically zero) representing the 0% value.
Click OK.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The current reading value on the pop up entry screens will be placed in the reading column
and represent values from the previous calibration. User entered values will be displayed in the entry column.
Select from the menu the 100% Calibration Value.
Apply the 100% value to the AI terminals.
Enter the value representing 100% from the calibration standard.
Click OK.
Select from the menu the 50% Calibration Value.
Apply the 50% value to the AI terminals.
Enter a value representing 50% from the calibration standard.
Click Ok.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If Performing a 5 point calibration, the user will need to add additional steps for the 25%
and 75% Calculation points.
6.14.3 Calibrating On-Board Pulse and Digital Inputs
G4
The XFC
comes standard with 2 high speed pulse inputs on board. These may also be used as digital inputs. The following
procedure is for calibrating pulse inputs. As you enter the calibration screen and have selected the P/I that you would like to
calibrate, the flow computer enters the Hold Mode and displays the current values and their register number.
The Current Values section will display the current values continuously by checking the Update box. When different digital inputs
are selected, their assigned register numbers are displayed on the top of the screen.
