To expedite service needs, please complete the questionnaire in Appendix A:
Customer Service before contacting Northrop Grumman Customer Service.
Complete the questionnaire with as much detail as possible and retain a copy for
the records.
E-mail or fax the form to Northrop Grumman (refer to the second page of this
manual for contact information) and notify the customer service representative
that it has been sent.
Even though the pump module is user replaceable, it is recommended that the
laser head be returned to Northrop Grumman for an upgrade. Contact Northrop
Grumman for detailed instructions about module replacement.
A return merchandise authorization (RMA) is required prior to shipping any
instruments to Northrop Grumman. Contact Northrop Grumman or the local
distributor for RMA and shipping instructions.
CAUTION
. Failure to obtain proper shipping instructions may result in damage to the
instrument.
Use the packing boxes supplied by Northrop Grumman to ship any instruments. If
shipping boxes have been lost or destroyed, replacements are available for a
nominal charge from Northrop Grumman.
Remove all water from the laser prior to packaging for shipment (see Chapter 5:
Maintenance for details). Place a desiccant in a sealed ESD bag with the laser and
secure the laser in the shipping container.
CAUTION
. Damage from residual water due to condensation or expansion can be
catastrophic to the diode arrays or laser rod if not dealt with properly. Such damage is
excluded from warranty coverage.
