Turn Power off, remove the
Sensor from the PIB, and
Power Up the AquaPure.
Does the 170 appear upon
power up without waiting the
5 minute wait period?
No
Inspect Sensor and
replace.
Conduct a transformer voltage test on the PIB.
Are the readings correct.
No
Check incoming Power.
-If the voltage is below 108 VAC when wired for 115 or below 216 VAC when
wired for 230, the voltage is too low for proper operation.
-If the voltage is good, replace the transformer.
Test cell voltage at the cord
connection on the PIB. Is the
voltage less then 19 VDC?
Yes
Visually check the DC cell cord
and outside of cell. Are they
connected loosely together or are
there signs of damage?
Yes
Loose connection = Reconnect
firmly.
Damaged cell or cord = Replace
cell and cord.
Next, Restart the unit and wait for
system diagnostics.
(Approximately 5
minutes).
PIB measured significant
current when the unit is
either resting or off. Replace
PIB.
Yes
Conduct a sensor
reading test. Does it
pass the test?
No
Yes
Perform transformer
voltage test and sensor
reading test. Replace
the PIB or Transformer
as needed.

possible shorts between the plates
& posts on the cell and inside the

Clean the cell with 4 parts water and 1
part muriatic acid. Rinse with fresh
water when done.
