1.1 Basic operation

Key functions

The following illustration shows the functions assigned to each key or key
sequence.
Key functions for normal operation

Remote indicators

When the
instrument group is selected in turn, on successive key presses. As each
instrument is selected, it displays a remote indication, during which time you can
control it from the Remote Keypad. The manner in which the remote indication is
displayed depends on the type of instrument:
• On ST80 instruments, the display changes to reverse video (white on black).
• On ST60 digital instruments, a REMOTE indicator is displayed.
• On ST60 analogue instruments, either one or both of the TRUE /MAG or TRUE/
APP indicators flash on and off.
After 8 seconds, the remote indicator is removed, and the ability to remotely
control the instrument is suspended, until you again press a remote key to re-
display the remote indication.
