Chapter 2 Configuring and Upgrading the System
15. Secure the heat sink with four screws.
16. Install the air duct.
17. Refer to 5.4.2 Installation in this Chapter and install the CPU/IO module.
18. Connect the power cords.
19. Press the POWER switch to power on the server.
20. Verify that POST displays no error message.
If POST displays an error message, write it down and see the POST error message list in Chapter 1
(6.2 POST Error Message).

5.6.2 Removal

Remove the heat sink and CPU in the reverse procedure of installation.

5.6.3 Replacement

Take the steps below to replace the failed CPU and heat sink.
1.
Identify the failed CPU by ftsmaint command.
2.
Remove the CPU/IO module by referring to 5.4.1 Removal in this Chapter.
3.
Replace the heat sink and CPU by referring to 5.6.1 Installation in this Chapter..
4.
Refer to 5.4.2 Installation in this Chapter and install the CPU/IO module.
5.
Start the CPU/IO module from the ftsmaint command.

Important
Tentatively secure the screws diagonally with the order as shown in the figure
below, check that the heat sink is attached to the CPU socket in parallel, then tighten
the screws diagonally.
