To correctly performed the adjustment, it is necessary to stick to
the following instructions:
Fold the wheelchair completely (see charter 5.2 "Closing
system") (fig.50)
Remove the rear wheels (see chapter 5.5 "Quick release
rear wheels") to make the operation easier (this step can be
made even with the wheels on)
Remove the bolt "A" and the ring "P" (4mm Allen key) on
one side only (fig. 51)
Unscrew the headless bolt G within the lever "L"
Make sure that the two backrest tubes are always parallel
between them during adjustment
Screw or unscrew the lever "L" until its hole is perfectly
aligned to one of those of the backrest tube and then
temporarily insert the bolt and ring (even without washers)
The position of the hole side of the "L" may be different
(looking upward or downward) according to the backrest hole
to it will be fixed on.
Gently try to unfold the wheelchair checking that the lever
"L" does not touch the upper or lower side of the slot it
moves through
if, while unfolding, the backrest get stuck before the complete
opening, DO NOT FORCE THE SYSTEM (this may cause
damages). In such case the reasons can be two: 1) the lever
"L" touches either the lower or the upper side of the slot; 2)
the full stroke bolt "V" (see figure 52) has to be screwed up a
bit (4mm Allen key).
If the wheelchair opens in the right way, a "click" on each
side will be heard (see chapter 5.3 "Opening system")
Now look at the inclination difference between the two
backrest tubes (it is better to watch this difference with the
wheels on).
If the new inclination is not satisfactory, repeat the operation
choosing another adjustment hole.
If the new inclination is good, fold the wheelchair completely,
fix the bolt "A" and ring "P" (and steel and nylon washers)
and finally the headless bolt "G" within the lever "L".
now, without repeating all instructions above, it is possible to
disassemble the other side of the backrest and re-assemble
it into the new position.
