The Lely Splendimo 240 MCR is a mower-to cut and condition fodder crops. The range of operation of the Lely Splendimo 240 MCR is between ± 20° from the horizontal (relative to the tractor), and can be driven at speeds up to 20 km/h.Central suspension of the Splendimo enables the Lely Splendimo 240...
Roller Conditioner Unit The roller conditioner unit is used to condition leafy crops. The position of the rollers can be adjusted to give more clearance between the rollers. This in combination with the tension between rollers determines the intensity of the conditioning The bottom roller is driven by a v-belt and drives the top roller by a gear assembly.
Optional Extras Lely Splendimo 240 MCR 1.4.1 Wear Plates Wear plates can be installed on the bottom of the skids to reduce wear of the skids. The wear plates are available in thicknesses of 4 mm or 8 mm. 1. Wear plate - 2. Topping skid Figure 2.

OPERATION Connect the Splendimo to the Tractor Adjust the 3-point hitch on the tractor until the arms are at the same height. Choose between connection position 1 or connection position 2 (fig. 5, page 3-2). Connection position 1 is recommended. A correct connection position is when the first mower disc is not in the Note: tyre track of the tractor.
1. Connection position 1 - 2. Connection position 2 Figure 5. Connection Points Disconnect the Splendimo from the Tractor Always position the tractor on solid ground before you disconnect the WARNING Splendimo from the tractor. Make sure there are no persons near the Splendimo when you disconnect WARNING it from the tractor.

Attach the two hydraulic hoses to the support on the headstock. Always keep the ball valve on the hydraulic system closed. If the ball valve is CAUTION open, the hydraulic pressure is released and the Splendimo will be unstable. Disconnect the top link from the headstock. Disconnect the two lower arms from the linkage pins on the headstock.
Move the Splendimo to the Transport Position Make sure there are no persons in the area when you move the Splendimo WARNING to the transport position. Make sure the front axle weight of the tractor is sufficient (use front weights if CAUTION necessary) and that you do not exceed the rear axle weight when the Splendimo is in the transport position.
Move the Splendimo from the Transport Position to the Working Position Make sure there are no persons in the area when you move the Splendimo WARNING to the headland position. Make sure the PTO shaft does not turn when the Splendimo is in the WARNING transport position.
Start Mowing Make sure no persons are near the Splendimo when you engage the PTO. WARNING Make sure no persons are within a 100 meter radius of the Splendimo WARNING during operation. Do not exceed the maximum PTO speed as shown on the Splendimo. CAUTION Always switch off the tractor engine before you leave the tractor cab.
Figure 10. Engaged Safety Guard Stop Mowing Always switch off the tractor engine before you leave the tractor cab. WARNING Stop the tractor. Lift the Splendimo to the headland position. Disengage the PTO. Wait for all moving parts of the Splendimo to stop. WARNING Switch off the tractor engine.
TEST AND ADJUSTMENT Adjust the Mowing Height Operate the tractor's top link to adjust the mowing height. Figure 11. Mowing Height Test and Adjustment...
Adjust the Ground Pressure Disengage the PTO. Wait until all moving parts have stopped before you do adjustments to WARNING the Splendimo. Turn the ball valve counterclockwise to release the pressure from the hydraulic system (fig. 12, page 4-2). Operate the hydraulic system until the pressure gauge shows the correct pressure.
Adjust the Conditioning Intensity On both sides of the Splendimo: Loosen the counter nut. Turn the adjustment bolt clockwise to increase the condition intensity. Turn the adjustment bolt counterclockwise to decrease the condition intensity. Tighten the counter nut. Figure 13. Adjust the Condition Intensity Test and Adjustment...
Adjust the Swath Width On the left and right side of the Splendimo: Turn the swath width handle counterclockwise to unlock it. Move the swath width handle sideways to adjust the swath width. The outer position gives the biggest swath width. The inner position Note: gives the smallest swath width.
Adjust the V-belt Tension Disconnect the secondary PTO-shaft. Remove the bolts of the inspection hole cover (1). Remove the inspection hole cover (2). Remove the nuts (3) and (4). Nut (4) is accessible via the inspection hole. Note: Remove the bolts (5). Remove the V-belt housing.
