What this chapter contains
This chapter contains checklists according to which the assembly of converter
modules into a cabinet is inspected at ABB factory.
The components are compared with main part list. The placement of modules and
other equipment is compared with assembly drawings. The mounting of modules
and other equipment is compared with assembly instructions. The types and cross-
sections of busbars are compared with drawings. The types, cross-sections and
colours of cables (also twisted cables) are compared with connection tables.
Optional marking of cables is compared with main part list.
Visual inspection
Inspect the mechanical and electrical installation of the converter module visually to
ensure safe testing and use of the drive.

Checks for cabinet construction are listed below.

Cabinet construction

Frame, wall, floor and roof structures, busbar enclosures and cable entries are correct and completely
assembled.

Mechanical joints are tightened and not broken.
1.3
Parts are clean and painted surfaces not scratched.
The cabinet frame and parts which are in metal to metal contact with the frame (e.g. seams, component
fixing points on assembly plates, back of control panel mounting plate) are not finished with non-
conducting paint or material.

There are sufficient number of supports, bolts and nuts for cables (for customer cables also).
