Repairs and Modifications

Repair of the HS52 units is limited to replacement of damaged
cables, Sensor unit, Processing unit, or Display unit.

Replacing Damaged Cables

Power off the Processing unit and dismount the damaged cable.
If the connector is not damaged it may be re-used, else a new
connector has to be made available.
Assemble the connector to the new cable as described in the
wiring information for the damaged cable. Refer the
INSTALLATION section, page 11 onwards.
Terminate the cable to the Processing unit as described in Cable
Connections, page 18.

Replacing Damaged Units

No HS52 units are designed for service in the field, and a
damaged unit has to be shipped back to Simrad for repair.
Opening the Sensor unit housing may result in permanent
damage to the unit!
Install the new unit according to procedures described in the
INSTALLATION section, page 11 onwards.

Repair of the Processing Unit

The Processing unit is not designed for service in the field. All
repairs and modifications of the unit, except for changing the
fuse in the power inlet, installation of new software version and
setup of the system, have to be done by Simrad. Contact you
nearest Simrad dealer if the processing unit fails.
The fuse in the power inlet is located behind the power terminal
block P400 and is marked F400. A spare fuse is available beside
it and its location is marked F401. The fuse is of type NANO
Littelfuse series 451 superfast (FF) and of 1.5 A.
