A heading alarm is activated when the heading gets reduced or
the heading is invalid, depending on the settings in Expert Setup
on page 36 and onwards. This might be due to bad satellite
geometry for a long period of time or the system has been
unable to determine a valid GPS heading.
At power up the alarm switch will be active until the position
and heading are valid. A system restart message will be present.
The alarm text will remain in the display until the NAV1 or
NAV2 button is pressed. No heading data will be output from
HS52 and shown on the display as long as the heading alarm
situation is present. The last valid position determined will be
output from HS52 and shown on the display as long as the
position alarm situation is present.
No alarm will be activated if the system is setup to not respond
to alarm situations. Refer to Expert Setup on page 36.

Position Alarm Display

If the default setting is used for the position alarm an alarm will
be activated if the system has been unable to determine position
the last two seconds See No Valid Data, page 58 for
troubleshooting. The following alarm text shown will be
displayed. When a position alarm occurs, the time indication on
the NAV2/POS displays will freeze on the time for the last GPS
fix and the last GPS fix is the position shown on the displays
(both time and position on the displays are then frozen).

Heading Alarm Display

If the default setting is used for heading alarm an alarm will be
activated 60 seconds after the system is unable to determine
GPS heading and the HDT-Q indication has become reduced -
see Troubleshooting. The heading value on the NAV1/HDT
