    Introduction ® The I-Onyx VN-957DN is an integrated camera that captures an image and can convert analog video to ® digital video and transmits the video over the ViconNet network (using Version 5 software). The VN-957DN delivers up to 30 fps. This IP camera series includes a high-resolution color model, a day/night version and a model that offers Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).

    CONNECTORS AND CONTROLS Rear Panel 1. ETHERNET (Network Port) RJ-45 port provides connection (RJ-45 connector) to Internet, Ethernet (10Base-T/100Base-T). The green LED indicates that there is connection to the Network. This connection also provides PoE (Power over Ethernet). When using PoE, a PoE device, such as the NETSWITCHPOE-24, is required. 2.

    Camera Configuration The I-ONYX VN-957DN cameras are configured in a different way than other ViconNet cameras. Initial setup and configuration are NOT done through VNSetup software but through a Web Browser interface. These cameras will not show up on the ViconNet Setup Site Selection list.
  • Page 17 Note: Default administrator account is set to Admin; password is set to 123456. After logging in, an ActiveX pop-up will display. ActiveX is not required to configure the camera or for it to work in ViconNet, but it is required to view video through the browser. If you want to view video through the browser, install ActiveX at this time.
  • Page 18 Consult your IT administrator as required. Be sure to correctly check either Dynamic IP Address (DHCP) or Static IP Address. Vicon recommends a Static IP Address. If a Dynamic IP Address is desired, refer to Appendix on how to use the IP Utility.

    ViconNet Configuration Adding Camera to the ViconNet System The I-ONYX VN-957 camera will not automatically show up on the site list. It must be added to the ViconNet system. Unlike non-ViconNet cameras, this camera does not require a third party license to be used in the system.

Kollector Elite Recorders and ViconNet Workstations can be used for live viewing and recording of network-streamed video. A network can be as simple as a single VN-957 camera connected to a ViconNet Workstation or can be complex with the addition of several networks interconnected via WAN.
