5.3 Warning instructions for electrical installation
Caution
Risk of injury when working on the electrical equipment
➢ Electrical installation work should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
➢ Before installing, removing or connecting the MultiControl, disconnect the conveyor
system from voltage and secure it against unintentional restart.
➢ For any connections only use UL certified cable CYJV or PVVA.
➢ Apply all the power supplies used to a common ground potential in order to avoid
compensating currents via the MultiControl or the bus line.
➢ Make sure all components are properly grounded. Improper grounding can lead to
static charge, which may result in failure or premature failure of the MultiControl.
➢ Provide suitable switching and protective devices that enable safe operation.
➢ Only switch on the operating voltages when all lines are connected.
NOTICE
Incorrect electrical installation can damage the MultiControl
➢ Observe national regulations for electrical installation.
➢ Only operate the MultiControl with 24 V protective extra low voltage (PELV).
➢ Never operate the MultiControl with alternating current.
➢ Pay attention to the correct polarity of the power supply.
➢ Make sure that the existing electrical installation does not interfere with the
MultiControl.
➢ Only use cables that are sufficiently dimensioned for the specific operating
conditions.
➢ Consider calculations for voltage drop in electrical lines.
➢ Observe the regulations for routing cables.
➢ Do not expose plug to high tensile or compressive load. Bending the cable on the
connector may damage the insulation of the cable and cause the MultiControl to
fail.
