Assembly and installation
5.1 Warning instructions for assembly
NOTICE
Improper handling when installing the MultiControl can lead to property damage or
shortened service life of the MultiControl
➢ Do not drop the MultiControl or use it improperly to avoid damage inside the
MultiControl.
➢ Check each MultiControl for visible damage before assembly.
➢ Ensure that the MultiControl is not distorted during assembly (no bending or
torsional load).
➢ Do not drill any additional mounting holes in the housing or base plate and do not
enlarge existing holes.
5.2 Assembling the MultiControl
Initial assembly
To attach the MultiControl to the conveyor frame, first attach the enclosed base plate to the
conveyor frame. There are two holes in the base plate for mounting the MultiControl. For the first
installation, the left holes should be used.
In order to simplify the electrical installation, all MultiControl should only be mounted
on one side of the conveyor if possible. For curves, the MultiControl should be
mounted as close as possible to the outer radius of the curve, as the connection of
the RollerDrive is located on this side.
Search plane on the conveyor frame on which the MultiControl can be mounted. Ensure
➢
that there is approx. 25 mm space left on the intended position in order to be able to
move the MultiControl later if necessary (see „Repeated assembly", page 18).
Use the baseplate as a template and mark the centre of the mounting holes. Pay attention
➢
to the correct orientation of the baseplate (the inscription in the cable guide must be
legible).
