2-10 Connecting Expansion Units

• G9SX-EX/G9SX-EX-T Expansion Units can be connected to the G9SX-AD/-ADA Advanced Unit, G9SX-NSA
Non-contact Door Switch Controller, or G9SX-GS Safety Guard Switching Unit to increase the number of safety
outputs. (Expansion Units cannot be connected to the G9SX-BC or to the G9SX-NS Non-contact Door Switch
Controller.)
• A maximum of five Expansion Units can be connected to one Advanced Unit. This may be a combination of
G9SX-EX Instantaneous types and G9SX-EX-T OFF-delayed types.
• Remove the end connector from the Unit (G9SX-AD, G9SX-ADA, G9SX-NSA, or G9SX-GS) and insert the
connector on the Connecting Cable from the first Expansion Unit. Place the end connector that was removed from
the Unit on the last Expansion Unit (i.e., the rightmost Expansion Unit).
• When Expansion Units are connected to an Advanced Unit, make sure that power is supplied to every Expansion
Unit. (Refer to the following diagram for actual Expansion Unit connection.)
