CAUTION
If the end gap is greater than the permissible limit, then check the condition of the piston and cylinder. If the piston and
cylinder are within the permissible limits, then replace the piston rings.
❱❘ Checking the cylinder for wear
- To check the cylinder for wear, use a micrometer to measure the bore. The measurement should be taken
10mm down from the top of the cylinder. Check the cylinder in several locations to make sure it is round
and not oval.

❱❘ Remanufactured cylinder
CAUTION
If the diameter of the cylinder is greater that 66.412 mm for example, have the Nikasil lining replaced or replace the
cylinder. Prior to having the cylinder replated, all of the exhaust valve components must be removed. The size of the
piston is stamped on the top of the piston and the size of the cylinder is stamped on the right side of the cylinder.
