Foreword
Warning
The successful and safe operation of this equipment and motors is dependent on
professional transport, storage, installation and mounting as well as careful operator control,
service and maintenance.
For special versions of the drive units and motors, information and data in the catalogs and
quotations additionally apply.
In addition to the danger and warning notices in the technical customer documentation
supplied, the applicable national, local and plant-specific regulations and requirements must
be carefully taken into account.
Caution
The motors can have surface temperatures of over +100 °C.
This is the reason that temperature-sensitive components, e.g. cables or electronic
components may neither be in contact nor be attached to the motor.
When connecting-up cables, please observe that they
– are not damaged
– are not subject to tensile stress
– cannot be touched by rotating components.
Caution
Motors should be connected-up according to the operating instructions provided. They must
not be connected directly to the three-phase supply because this will damage them.
SINAMICS drive units with motors are subject, as part of the routine test, to a voltage test in
accordance with EN 50178. While the electrical equipment of industrial machines is being
subject to a voltage test in accordance with EN60204-1, Section 19.4, all SINAMICS drive
unit connections must be disconnected/withdrawn in order to avoid damaging the SINAMICS
drive units.
Caution
The DRIVE-CLiQ interface contains motor and encoder-specific data as well as an electronic
rating plate. This is the reason that this Sensor Module may only be operated on the original
motor - and may not be mounted onto other motors or replaced by a sensor module from
other motors.
The DRIVE-CLiQ interface has direct contact to components that can be damaged/destroyed
by electrostatic discharge (ESDS). Neither hands nor tools that could be electrostatically
charged may come into contact with the connections.
