This chapter describes how to use the Propaq MD unit to monitor temperature.
The Propaq MD unit provides two temperature channels. When both channels are in use, the
unit displays each channel's temperature successively, followed by the difference between the
temperatures (labeled

Temperature Monitoring Setup

To monitor temperature using the Propaq MD unit, perform the following steps:
1. Select the temperature probe and apply it to the patient.
Connect the temperature probe to the Propaq MD unit.

Configure Temperature alarms and settings (if the current Temperature alarms and settings

are not appropriate).

Selecting and Applying Temperature Probes

You should use only temperature probes that are approved for use with the Propaq MD unit.
See Appendix B, Accessories for a list of ZOLL-approved temperature probes. The use of other
probes that do not match the performance specifications of the ZOLL-approved probes may
produce incorrect temperature readings.
To apply the temperature probe to the patient, follow your organization's standard procedures.
Always refer to probe manufacturer's Directions for Use before using the probe.
