Setting the switch IP address You can configure the Brocade 300 with a static IP address, or you can use a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to set the IP address of the switch. DHCP is enabled by default. The Brocade 300 supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Page 57: Date And Time Settings

The Brocade 300 maintains the current date and time inside a battery-backed real-time clock (RTC) circuit. Date and time are used for logging events. Switch operation does not depend on the date and time; a Brocade 300 with an incorrect date and time value still functions properly.
  • Page 58: Local Time Synchronization

You must perform the procedure on all switches for which the time zone must be set. However, you only need to set the time zone once on each switch, because the value is written to nonvolatile memory. Use one of the two following procedures to set the time zone.
