Installation
The Harmony 802.11a Access Point requires a Harmony Access Point (AP) Controller.
The AP Controller must be installed on the network before the Access Point can be
installed and configured. See the User's Guide that came with your Harmony AP
Controller for instructions on how to install and configure Access Points.
Note:
The AP Controller must have firmware version 2.0 or greater installed to sup-
port the Harmony 802.11a Access Point. Confirm that the AP Controller has
the latest firmware version before installing the 802.11a Access Point.

FCC Guidelines
It is the responsibility of the installer and users of the Harmony 802.11a Access Point
to guarantee that the antenna is operated at least 20 centimeters from any person.
This is necessary to insure that the product is operated in accordance with the RF
Guidelines for Human Exposure which have been adopted by the Federal
Communications Commission.
Radio Frequency Interference Requirements
The Harmony 802.11a Access Point Models 8569 and 8570 operate in the frequency
range of 5.15 to 5.35 GHz; they are restricted to indoor use due to their operation in the
5.15 to 5.25 GHz frequency range. FCC 15.407(e) requires that these devices be used
indoors in the frequency range of 5.15 to 5.25 GHz to reduce the potential for harmful
interference to co-channel Mobile Satellite systems. Therefore the devices should be
used indoor only for channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 and when 2X mode is enabled,
channels 42 and 50. The Harmony 802.11a Access Point Model 8571 operates in the
frequency range of 5.25 to 5.35 GHz and is not subject to the above restriction.
