Installing an optional rear door heat exchanger

Before you can install the optional rear door heat exchanger, you must remove the
standard rear door and the hinge brackets. See"Removing the rear door" on page
25 for information. Then, see the IBM Rear Door Heat eXchanger for the iDataPlex
Rack Installation and Maintenance Guide on the IBM Documentation CD for
information.

Connecting power to the rack
Connect power to the rack cabinet by using pigtails with a standard plug. You can
connect 120 V, 220 V, or three-phase (208 V, 220 V, or 240 V) to the power
distribution units.
The power distribution unit (PDU) installs vertically in the vertical bays of the rack
cabinet. When you choose an installation location, make sure that power cables
from other devices can reach the PDU. See the documentation that comes with the
PDU for detailed installation instructions.
