Software installation

The following section describes the installation of the Windows-compatible
system software LANtools, as supplied.

2.5.1 Starting the software setup
Place the product CD into your drive. The setup program will start automati-
cally.

Connecting to the ISDN – to connect the LANCOM UMTS Router to the
ISDN, plug in one end of the supplied ISDN cable (light-blue connectors)
to an ISDN S interface

Insert SIM card – slide the SIM card into the slot
to ensure that the card is the right way round.
Power supply – the socket

Use only the power adapter mentioned in the technical data! The use
of the wrong power adapter can be of danger to the device or per-
sons.
Ready for operation? – After a brief self-test the power LED lights up
permanently in green or it blinks alternately in red and green until a con-
figuration password is set.
You may skip this section if you use your LANCOM UMTS Router exclu-
sively with computers running operating systems other than Win-
dows.
If the setup does not start automatically, run AUTORUN.EXE in the
root directory of the LANCOM CD.
